If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Booknowmed.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

The point of this page and profile was to create the history of the company booknowmed.com. It is in no way intended to promote the company, but rather to provide a history of activities since its founding. I understand that this appears to be promotional, but I will be working on the page and its content in order to ensure that it fits within the five pillars of Wikipedia. I plan to unlink all references that lead to the company website and include others that are neutral.

Decline reason:

You appear to have been violating WP:COI and WP:PAID. Your contribution was a clear violation of WP:PROMO. Yamla (talk) 18:12, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So does this mean that I can never make a wikipedia page with this material again, or create an account with this username?

To be renamed, you must make another unblock request. You will need to show that you understand the policies mentioned to you and explain what you will edit about if unblocked since you won't be permitted to continue to violate those policies. 331dot (talk) 09:07, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with... -- in response to the answer I got above from user 331dot - Can I post a revised version of my article here on my talk page so that someone can check it, along with a new unblock request? Or should I just explain and point out where I went wrong in my unblock request?

Bnminfo (talk) 12:55, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do not use the help me template for requests related to y our block. Follow the instructions. Praxidicae (talk) 12:59, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, you can not post a revised version of your article here. Please step back and read WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO. You clearly have not done so yet. Once you have done so, you are free to request an unblock. You will need to demonstrate that you clearly understand these policies. You will need to pick another username. And you will need to tell us what you'll write about instead, now that you know you won't be unblocked if your goal is to continue writing about booknowmed.com. --Yamla (talk) 13:00, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have read the pages, thanks :) however, my next question would be this - if I am part of the marketing department at my workplace, how can I create a wikipedia page about the company, of course with all of these policies in mind? The purpose of the page is to exist on Wikipedia, as Airbnb and Booking.com do. I'd love if someone could point me in the right direction so that I can move on from this.
You don't. We aren't interested in what your company wishes to say about itself. You've also made specific accusations against AirBnB and Booking.com. Please provide your specific evidence that these articles are created by the marketing department of those companies, in violation of Wikipedia's policies and terms of use, and not by independent authors with no conflicts of interest. --Yamla (talk) 14:02, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, loud and clear. My mistake if my remarks sounded like accusations against AirBnB and Booking.com, that wasn't my intention. Thanks for the information, I'll keep it in mind for future participation on Wikipedia.
